Vintage circa 1930’s Tag reads: In Script: Fisher Heavenly Silk Lingerie In block Letters: PURE SILK REG US PAT OFF FYI . I saw another just like this except a full slip of 100% silk and sporting the same tag and it was listed as 1920’s and was listed at $1025.00 U.S. at a vintage boutique in Europe. I am ‘very’ confident that this is 1930’s, it could very well be 1920’s. I list it at a price I feel will draw some interest. Much of my real old vintage items sell to boutique resellers and that’s OK as I made what I felt was a fair price. If they make more so be it. But Here is your opportunity to cut out the middleman and save hundreds. Or if you are the middle man you could make a handsome profit on this one. This slip sports a working metal zipper 5.5 inches 14 cm long. Above the zipper is a metal eyehook with 2 metal clasps for adjustment (The male end has been replace with a chromed eyehook the 2 female receptor eyes are of black metal and are original.) There are 3 pleats 1 large 2 small One sewn seam with 3/8 inch 1 cm fabric out to pinking shear cut Folded and double sewn waist band , no elastic. All pleats the seam the lace and the waistband are sewn with a straight running stitch. The lace was sewn in following the curvature of the lace. The
lace is very intricate and absolutely gorgeous with a very detailed and
fine floral pattern and scalloped edge. A slit up the side measuring 6
inches 15 cm. The width of the lace is from 3 inches 8cm to 4 inches 10 cm depending on what section of the pattern you measure. There are no rips, snags, tears, open seams, or any major or even minor problems with this slip. The only thing I noticed is it appears the eyehook was moved replaced and re-sewn. The eyehook is chromed steel where as the eyes are black steel. The waist is now let out as far as it will go but the inner hook is approximately 1 inch 2.5 cm in so the waist could be taken in 1 inch without moving the eyehook again. And there are a few loose threads to be trimmed mostly from the inside seam and along the bottom where the material was sewn to the lace. This is very minor and could be taken care of in a couple minutes with a pair of scissors. I leave it as is for its nostalgic charm and as it does not show and is of so little consequence, I would not even bother. The
slip could use a good pressing or steaming to rid it of folds from storage but other
than that, this is near MINT CONDITION 1930’s, possibly earlier, 100%
silk slip. Waist: 28 inches 71 cm Hips: 39 inches 99 cm Sweep: 46 inches 117 cm Length: 27 inches 69 cm The pic of the seam did not show well so I laid it out on the table so you could see the pinking edge. # c0006 $98.00 + S&H |
