VINTAGE LEATHER SADDLE PURSE WESTERN CABIN LODGE DÉCOR

This hand tooled western saddle purse is in excellent condition with only a minor mar here and there. Nothing so bad as to even mention. This could easily pass as new or very nearly so.

I had thought this to be a very unique find but when I researched it I found they still sell new ones today but they appear to be of much lower quality. This purse was made when they made things to last and I am sure you would agree if you could handle it for yourself.

I’ve seen similar new ones listed at $90.00 and up but even though used this one is in as good a condition as most new would be after a couple days use.

My parents bought this on a trip to Mexico in the 70’s and though mom probably used it a time or two I remember it as being part of mom’s western collection on a shelf for many years.

If you were to compare this to the new ones they have for sale now I’m sure you would find this to be made with much heavier leather and fastened much better. Also I think if you are going for the authentic western look you would be hard pressed to find a purse of this Vintage quality and in such fine condition.

The saddle has a suede seat and under the flap is a faux wool lining just as if you had a saddle blanket on.

The purse measures:

9 inches from base to seat

12 inches to the top of the saddle horn

The useable portion of the purse measures 7 inches in height.

It is about 9.5 inches in length

3.5 inches in width

The shoulder strap is 36 inches in length

1 inch wide and 3/16 inches in thickness

The entire purse is made of leather between 1/8 inch and 3/16 inch thick.

Very heavy duty to last a lifetime.

The perfect purse for that special cowgirl or as a decorative western motif for lodge or cabin.

Check to see if the western hats I have listed are still available, as they would make a nice matching addition to this purse.
